Off He Goes...Into the Wild Blue Yonder!

Well, Incirlik, Turkey to be more exact. My little brother, Will, is a C-17 pilot in the Air Force, stationed at McChord AFB in Washington State. He left this morning for a four month deployment, which means my sister-in-law is now without spouse for four whole months! So, all of you blogger prayer warriors, I know it would mean so much to them and it DOES mean so much to me, if you would just take a few seconds each day to remember him while he is away...actually, to remember ALL of the troops in your prayers!

I am SO proud of what he is doing in the Air Force and I take every opportunity to brag about him to people. He has gone through so much to get to where he is now, and we couldn't be more proud to have him flying and serving the USA in such an honorable way. I know sometimes he feels like we shouldn't make such a big deal about what he is doing because he isn't in as much danger as ground troops on the front line might be. Nevertheless, he has sacrificed his daily life and put his life on the line for all of us and I am just amazed and a little teary just thinking about it.

So, please lift up Capt. Will Dabney in your prayers as you remember our troops!

I love you little brother! And you couldn't find a prouder big sister anywhere!

And Amy...although I don't like that Will has to be gone for so long, I AM SO HAPPY about what that does for me...I get to see you and you get to visit Texas for a LONG time! Woo hoo! Can't wait!

P.S. To see the SWEETEST little tribute and farewell to Will, click here...it is worth the 30 seconds to get there!

  3. Thanks sis! Your little brother is happy to send me south, knowing I'll be in good hands and have a great time while he's gone - he is a little jealous of the company I'll get to keep, but he's excited for me nonetheless! I'm already thinking about what to pack :)

  5. holy cow, woman! Another thing in common -- my little brother is a retired military pilot, too, but Army.

And I loved your very sweet comment today, but stop showing off that you are younger than I am. If you hadn't said that, no one would have known. (to which I'd better say "just kidding" because sometimes it's hard to tell on this kind of format, right?)

    So, just kidding. Show off.
