Trip South

I'm finally getting to post about our trip to College Station weekend before last. We always look forward to the times when we get to head back to our old stompin' grounds and spend some time with good friends in one of our favorite places.

So, we were planning on going to the A&M vs. Texas Tech game Saturday morning, but found out the week before we wouldn't be able to leave until Saturday morning. So, we decided to take Monday off and head down anyway so we could see my parents and our friends.

After a late start, we finally were on the road and on our way. We planned to make one stop in Waco to see my dear friend, Corrie and her baby girl, Clara. Corrie, Clara and me at McAllister's in Waco

Clara and Aunt Charla...she's such a good, sweet, little thing!
I promised Corrie I would meet Clara before she turned a year old and I just barely squeaked in at 9 months. Oh, it was so great to see both of them, even though it was just for a short few minutes!

I can't tell you how excited we get knowing we are heading back to Aggieland! We start planning where we're going to go, whom we are going to visit, and most importantly where we will eat!

So, we finally go to Bryan about 7:00 Saturday night and decided to head to our friends, the Willis', to drop off our car and head to my parents' hotel. We visited with them and with some of our friends, including my college roommate, Laura and my neighbor Leigh and their husbands. It was great to see them and catch up!

We headed back to Rob and Lindsay's and stayed up talking a while and just hanging out.

Sunday we had planned on going to church but it didn't happen. So, we made breakfast and my parents came over to eat with us before they headed out for Austin and then home.

Sunday we spent eating at some of our favorite places including Wings 'N More! We also drove around and saw Rob and Lindsay's new land they are going to build on soon. It was absolutely beautiful and will be an awesome place for them to build! I'm so happy for them! They have worked really hard and are such good people; they deserve this blessing! We also hit the bookstore for some much needed Aggie paraphernalia!

We ended up grilling that night and just visiting some more. Rob and Lindsay have a precious little girl, Sophie. She is only three, but you would swear she was going on seven! She is so intelligent and funny. We have the best time with her!

Monday Rich and I left the Willis' back up and ready for home. First, we stopped by our favorite coffee house, Coffee Station. This is a special place for us because we spent most of our early dating time here, studying and visiting. So, anytime we are back in College Station we always hit it up! I got a new hat and a new Aggie coffee mug before we headed for our FAVORITE restaurant, Pho John's. Richard and I love Asian...sushi, Kabuki, Chinese, Vietnamese, you name it. But this place is our absolute favorite and the owner is so kind everytime we are there!

After eating, we headed out for home. We made another stop in Waco on our way home to visit one of my best friends, Sami, and her husband Blake and their new baby, Payton Ann. We also got to visit with Becky, Sami's mom. Sweet Baby Payton

Sami and Payton...precious girls! Look at her lookin' at her mommy!

I have some other pictures from my camera so I will post them later!

Sami and I went to Jr. High and High School together and were doubles partners in tennis 7-12 grades. Payton is the sweetest thing and I absolutely didn't want to leave because I was pretty sure I couldn't take her with me!

We made it around 11:45 and it made for a very early morning Tuesday. Needless to say we were exhausted, but it was well worth the trip!

Until next time, Gig 'Em Aggieland!
