I Should Get Paid for This

I forgot to add in my last post about TWO new products I'm loving! One is something you've probably seen/used yourself, but I have never. I have a very dear friend who is having twins in a few months and I read she had been craving pickles through this whole pregnancy thus far. When I read about it, I thought pickles sounded divine (not craving them, they just sounded good), so at the grocery store the other day, I decided to upgrade and not purchase my usual, less expensive Best Maid brand. I ended up with these (yes, those new commercials are very convincing)...

Oh. My. Goodness. Why have I been depriving myself of such goodness just to save a few ¢¢? I highly recommend these Vlasic Baby Kosher Dills as a great snack choice!

The second product I picked up is Kretschmer's Wheat Germ. I have tried wheat germ before but was not a fan. Wheat germ is a great way to get extra Vitamin E and Folic Acid. Last time I tried it though, the nutritional advantages weren't worth the taste...bleh.

But, this brand is actually pretty good and I've started adding two tablespoons to my yogurt, cereal, pudding, and/or oatmeal. 2 tablespoons has 50 calories and 1 gram of fat, 2 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein.

I would love to hear some of your healthy snack ideas. I'm always searching for something new and healthy to snack on after school.

  1. I think you have probably always purchased Best Maid because that is what we like and always bought. I know they were Grandpa's favs also.... I have tried Vlasic, I just prefer Best Maid.... they really say DILL to me. And, just by coincidence- I also bought Kretschmer's Wheat Germ this week. I saw a recipe for granola a lot like Amy's, but it called for Wheat Germ, so I thought I would try it. Will let you know on that one once I have.

  3. My favorite are also the Claussen Kosher Dill spears. They are the best, I think it's the garlic that makes them so good. I'm not a fan of even the slightest "sweet" flavor in pickles though.

  4. I'm a granola nut. It can be a little high in sugar, but it's SO good for you.
