I know, I know...I've already heard it and I know! It has been WAY too long since I posted, BUT I must say I have good reason for my long hiatus. We left Childress 12/21/07 for Uvalde and didn't return until the next year...okay, so it was 1/2/08 BUT I was there the whole time with 56 K dial-up that really only was getting about 26 K at any given time. NO WAY was I doing any blogging there! I am happy to say that Mom got a new computer (and an 80G iPod) for Christmas and that sparked both Mom and Dad into finally looking into high speed connection. They live out in the country so for a while they didn't have a choice.
WELL...where do I begin? It is not that I haven't wanted to blog, I just haven't had either the chance, the connection, or the motivation...I've been in a funk.
But that is over now and I promise to be a more faithful blogger.
Christmas was a really nice time in Uvalde. My mother's family was all together for the first time in a while and it was so special for my grandmother. We took a family picture and since the previous one, we've added at least 3 to the family and there's another on the way (no, not me).
While we were in Uvalde our days consisted of eating, sleeping, reading, hunting, visiting, crocheting, playing games, napping, cooking and eating some more. It was heaven on earth for me. I wasn't ready to come back to reality and I refused to mention the "s" word all break (well, most of it anyway...it's hard not to say "school" when your mother and sister-in-law are teachers).
My brother, Will, and SIL, Amy were here from Washington State and it was really good to spend some quality time with both of them.
The whole family, with the exception of Richard or me, was sick at some point during the holiday so that was somewhat of a bummer. But all in all, it was a great break and great trip to the BIG "U."
I wish I had more to tell you, but the truth is...I don't! So, I will leave you with this picture. It is a random photo I found while perusing iPhoto on my laptop and I found myself wishing I was there right now! This is Richard and me on top of the "mountain" we climbed in the Gila National Forest in NM this summer. Good times.

ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Charla! I'm glad you had a good time in Uvalde, and I hope your students were refreshed from their break. But not too much. You don't want them too hyper!
ReplyDeleteCharla - I just read your birthday blog about Richard and the ten things you love about him...that is sooooooooooooo cool. I lked hearing more about him and how you perceive him too. You are a lucky woman, but he's also a very lucky guy. I count myself among the lucky too to be counted among your many friends. You are a blessing in my life and I amy thankful for you! Thanks for all your help with my blog start up! I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.
