Because You Begged

So, maybe that was in my dreams, but I can pretend like you begged me to post something new because it had been too long, right? And I did have ONE request for another post soon, so that counts, huh? Good, I'm glad you agree!

Unfortunately I feel like I've been in a blogging slump. I don't feel like there's much to write about, but I will try to come up with a few things for your reading pleasure...ha!

First, we have a doctor's appointment in Lubbock with Dr. Dorsett, our fertility specialist. Basically, there are three levels in the process of getting pregnant in our situation.
We've already done the Clomid/IUI step, so we're going to start the second level, which involves injectable fertility drugs and IUI (Intrauterine Insemination...aka Artifical Insemination). So, we go to Lubbock Monday to start that process. Of course we would love your prayers.

Then, Tuesday I go to the dentist to FINALLY get my wisdom teeth removed. I've only ever had the two top ones, and forever was told that until they started to hurt me they were fine. Well, the left one has decided to come in for the last couple of years and it is now really bothering me. So, I'm going to go ahead and have them taken out and have a cavity filled all at the same time. I've had so many dental procedures done to me, I'm just completely relaxed about this whole thing. In fact, I'm kind of looking forward to it, because I get to have conscious sedation, and y'all it is the BEST nap you will ever have! Is that disturbing? Hee hee...maybe so, but it's the truth! That's why they won't let you have the meds yourself. You get to the doctor an hour before your actual appointment and they start giving you pills until you basically fall asleep.
Last time I did this, I was sitting on a love seat with McH in the lobby of the periodontist's office and I had already had one pill. I said I didn't think it was working. About that time, I literally started sliding off the seat and McH had to grab me, and lay me down and I just fell sound asleep. But when it was time to go in, I could get up, walk in and sit in the chair. LOVE THAT STUFF!!

I've been playing a lot of golf lately and I'm really loving it! Every Friday at the CC there is couple's golf tournament. We play scramble and it is so much fun! McH has really wanted me to play golf with him, but every time I went out I would get frustrated and leave more stressed than when I came. But for some reason, and I know this sounds crazy, but ever since I turned 30 a couple of months ago, I've been much more laid back and relaxed about life in general.

I've always heard your thirties are the best years of your life. I'm thinking that may just be true! I know my thirties will hold lots of new changes for our family and I'm excited about that!

I would love to hear about your thirties!

  1. It's the truth! The squeaky wheel does always get the grease! *squeak* *squeak* Thank you!

30's feel good to me so far. I'm diggin 'em...I think....

Good attitude on the wisdom teeth! Remember when I had mine out?! It was on my 16th birfday :( My drivers license picture even touted my chubby cheeks. I couldn't wait one more day! LOL.
Don't eat anything you otherwise love. I ate alot of rice with parsley for some reason, and I can't even think about it now. Susan is that way with peanut butter...some things after surgeries (i think if you throw up) are never the same.

    Anyway, happy weekend!
    All love!

  2. Hey girl, good luck with the AI stuff!! Been there, done that....can't say I would do it again. Nothing special about it! Lonnie used to compare it to AI'ing cows!!! Didn't make for a pleasant two hour ride home! But, if you get that little package at the end, it makes it all worth while. I love laughing about it now. Some day you will laugh too, I promise.

You are in my prayers daily. Just pray for God's will. You never know what he has planned for you, just don't try to tell Him His plans!! Good luck!

  3. I wrote you a long comment and then it didn't go through. We did one round of injectibles/iui before moving on to IVF. My doc said either I'd end up spending the same amount anyway and not getting pregnant or getting pregnant with 10 babies, yikes!

It's all emotionally exhausting but so worth it. Hang in there!

  4. Hey Charla. Glad you used some of your time today for a blog update! I just wanted to chime in and say I'm praying for you guys.
Also, I was a big baby going into my wisdom teeth surgery, and it ended up being a breeze. I had absolutely no complications, and I remember no pain at all. Of course I remember very little about the entire weekend because of those crazy conscious sedation drugs. =) Apparently I was the life of the party, though, and we went out to a Chinese buffet where I pigged out ON THE WAY HOME from the surgery! Crazy. Unfortunately there are pictures floating around somewhere to prove how much fun I had, and Chris is still laughing about it. Ha!

  5. 30's??? Loved them, but I've actually loved all my many decades.
Had the wisdom teeth out in my late 20's; no conscious sedation, just usual numbing - but no problems.
    Golf - never done it.
Infertility? My little twin grandaughter was released from the hospital today to go be with her brother. God is so good - but He has His own time schedule.
    Prayers going up! love ya

  7. Yay!! A new post! Sounds like you are doing pretty well! We're sending prayers your way and hope we'll be able to send congratulations your way soon. Good luck with the wisdom teeth. You are nuts for looking forward to it! Of course, the good thing about getting my wisdom teeth out was that I could blame the surgery on my fat cheeks for at least a week! ha. Enjoy your week! We miss you guys!
