Pregnancy Highlights: 25-26 Weeks

I didn't get around to posting my 25 week pregnancy highlights, so I will combine 25 and 26.  If you didn't read about last Saturday's "excitement" scroll down and catch up.

How far along: 26 weeks today!

Size of Babies:  Between weeks 25 and 26, they've grown from the size (in weight) of a

to the size (in length) of an

ENGLISH HOTHOUSE CUCUMBER (whatever the heck that is)

I'm anxious to see how much they really weigh and how long they really are at our doctor's appointment this Thursday.  They are usually bigger and longer than what the books/emails suggest.

Total Weight Gain/Lost: At the doctor Wednesday, I have gained 37 pounds.  My goal was around the 45-50 mark, so I'm hoping I can steadily increase and end up somewhere between 50 and 60 pounds.  We will see.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time.  If it's not maternity, it's L or XL, or one of McH's shirts.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL (Reese Kathleen) and Baby B is a BOY (Truett Zeldon).

Movement: Oh, yes.  All the time!  I love feeling them move around and it's definitely gotten stronger and more obvious.  I think they are responding to me pushing on them now, too.  If I push near Reese's head with the fetal doppler, she will punch back and the doppler and my hand will bounce off my belly.

Sleep:  Sleep is still touch and go.  Some times okay, other times not so great.  I'm dealing with it.

What I Miss:  Probably getting good sleep more than anything right now.

Cravings:  Food.  :)

Symptoms:  I'm tired, I'm starting to waddle, some Braxton Hicks, some swelling and other things I would not mention on this blog...ever!

Best moment for this week: I don't think I would consider it the "BEST" moment of the week, but it certainly will go down as the most significant of the last few days.  I had to go to Labor and Delivery on Saturday to be monitored because the tightening/contractions in my belly started getting more intense.  It wasn't a fun experience, but it was good to go and find out all was well.  Then, Wednesday I had an unscheduled visit to the doctor as kind of a follow-up and she put me on work and travel restriction, which in some ways is a huge relief, and in others a huge disappointment.  But we deal with it, and move on, knowing in 11 weeks when these babies are full-term and healthy it will all have been worth it.  I have to miss my first baby shower in Austin this coming weekend, which I was completely bummed about, but such is life when you're in a high-risk pregnancy.

I love these babies more and more each day and we are getting so excited about meeting them...just not anytime too soon!  :)

  1. What a crazy week and one that gets you that much closer to the babies : )
Enjoy your "bedrest" and the quiet moments.

  2. Glad to know you are going to get much needed rest on restrictions. It is hard I know as I went through that with Corbyn (and even a little bit with Lexi). It is all worth it to have healthy happy babies. :)
