Pregnancy Highlights: 30 Weeks

How far along: 30 Weeks 4 Days (I'm a little behind)

Size of Babies:  At Monday's appointment, Reese was weighed 3 lbs. 7 oz (up from 2 lbs. 3 oz 3 weeks ago), and Truett weighed 4 lbs. 1 oz.!  Grow babies, grow!  I was so relieved and thankful for baby Reese's continued growth.  She's still quite a bit smaller than her brother, but that's just her, it seems. And T is a BIG BOY!  Love it!  I can't wait to see their baby fat cheeks and legs!  According to Baby Center.com they can be compared to a head of cabbage as far as weight goes.

Total Weight Gain/Lost:  About 46 pounds.  My multiples pregnancy book says up to 56 pounds is suggested for my pre-pregnancy weight and height, so I'm hoping to stay at least somewhere close to that. We will see.  I was measuring 38 weeks (for a singleton pregnancy) at my apopintment Monday.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time.  If it's not maternity, it's L or XL, or one of McH's shirts or pajama pants.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL (Reese Kathleen) and Baby B is a BOY (Truett Zeldon).

Movement: Oh, yes!  and I LOVE it!  As much as I will be ready to have these babies mainly because I'm just so uncomfortable right now, I'm going to terribly miss feeling them move around in my belly!  It is the best feeling, ever!  Now their movements are really intense!  My belly moves all over when they do and the rolling movements are awesome!  The best part is seeing McHotterson's face when he catches it!  Priceless!

Sleep:  Eh, still not great.  But, I did get a presecription for some Ambien to help with it and I took one last night and got a wonderful night's sleep which has made all the difference today!

What I Miss:  Energy.

Cravings:  No real cravings, but I have discovered Greek yogurt and am IN LOVE!  It also is really good for you during pregnancy, so BONUS!  If you've never had it, go get some!  It's less sweet and delicious!

Symptoms: Some swelling, but the worst symptom I've recently developed is the worst acid reflux/heartburn ever!  It is pure misery, y'all.  I'm trying so hard not to complain through this pregnancy, but this, by far, has been the worst symptom so far.  It makes me nauseous, so I don't eat as much and then I get more nauseous because I haven't eaten.  This is a big reason why I'm not sleeping, too.  Laying down makes it worse.  UPDATE:   I finally got a prescription strength heartburn med and I'm hoping it will work SOON!

Best moment for this week: Of course, I have to say our doctor's appointment was the best!  Just love seeing those babies move around and checking in on everything.   I was put on a monitor for a little while after the doctor discovered my cervix had shortened quite a bit since my last appointment.  But all was well and he didn't seem too concerned about it and neither did my OBGYN whom I saw the same day!  She assured me it was normal for my body to start doing this.  She reminded me I have 7.5 pounds of baby in me and am measuring full-term if I were carrying only one baby.  So, this is all normal.  Overall the best news was Reese's growth continuing to stay on track!   And I guess since they don't want to see me for another 3 weeks, they must think things are going just fine!

  1. I love the update! Sorry to hear about the heartburn and lack of sleep, though. I have dealt with heartburn/acid reflux for most of my life, and when I was pregnant with my first it was unbelievably horrible. They prescribed me everything and NOTHING helped. I am so grateful not to have any this time around, but I completely know what you're going through and think you have every right to complain! ha ha!
