Pregnancy Highlights: 31 Weeks

How far along: 31 Weeks 1 Day

Size of Babies:  Here's what BabyCenter.com says:  This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (um, maybe a smidge more) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.  Babies are heavier than 4 navel oranges.

Total Weight Gain/Lost:  About 46 pounds.  My multiples pregnancy book says up to 56 pounds is suggested for my pre-pregnancy weight and height, so I'm hoping to stay at least somewhere close to that. We will see.  I was measuring 38 weeks (for a singleton pregnancy) at my apopintment Monday.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time.  If it's not maternity, it's L or XL, or one of McH's shirts or pajama pants.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL (Reese Kathleen) and Baby B is a BOY (Truett Zeldon).

Movement: Oh, yes!  and I LOVE it!  Early this morning, it felt like snakes were swimming in my belly! Last night we put a flashlight on my stomach and Truett moved towards it.  McH didn't like thinking we might be blinding him (HA), so it didn't last long!

Sleep:  Eh, still not great.  I was up at 4:50 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, mainly because I was hungry and my mind was racing!  I sleep much better during daytime naps than I do at night.

What I Miss:  Of course I miss sleeping well.  I also really miss church.  We haven't been to Sunday school and church since I was put on work restriction at 26 weeks and I miss it so much!  At this point climbing the 3 flights of stairs up to Sunday school is out of the question and I'm not sure I could make it through sitting all the way through church.  We do watch on t.v./Internet/listen to the radio, but it's just not the same as fellowship with our church family!

Cravings:  I pretty much drink Nesquik Lowfat Chocolate Milk like it is going out of style.  It is SO tasty, plus it really helps my heartburn!

Symptoms:  Acid reflux/heartburn has gotten SO MUCH BETTER!  Thank you, Lord!  Other symptoms are insomnia, I'm back to peeing all the time at night, hungry but can't eat much at once at this point, got my first stretch mark last week, other ailments I will NOT mention on this blog!
Best moment for this week:There's not one particular great moment this week, so I will list a few I can think of.

1.)  The nursery is slowly coming together with the valance, crib skirts, sheets (thanks to McH's very talented mother), and some beginning of organization.

2.) McH is really into feeling the babies move and talking to them.  I just love it.

3.) I'm almost caught up with my thank you notes!  WOO HOO!

4.)  We continue to receive some amazing gifts and I am excited to check the mail every day!  We have been so very blessed, undeservedly so!
5.) I was able to use some gift cards this week to make some online purchases for the babies and it was so fun!
6.) The downstairs bathroom has been completely destroyed and I couldn't be happier!  This will be the babies' bathroom, so I'm looking forward to getting it painted and decorated before they get here!
