Pregnancy Highlights: 17 Weeks

How far along: 17 Weeks 3 days!

Size of Baby: Babies are the size of a TURNIP!

Total Weight Gain/Lost: I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and was weighed and...**GULP**...I've gained between 15 and 20 pounds already!  OH. MY.  Honestly, it doesn't bother me, I just can't believe it's already that much!  It makes me happy when I've gained some weight because I know as this twin pregnancy progresses it won't be very easy to eat as much as I need to.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time! I also spend lots of time at home in pajamas and yoga-type pants.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL! Baby B is a BOY!

Movement: Still not sure, but I think I feel movements here and there.  I just am not sure what they feel like, so it's difficult to know for sure.  I'm hoping they will make it really obvious here pretty soon!

Sleep: Sleep is getting better, I think.  Most nights, I'm only up 2 or 3 times.

What I Miss:  Honestly, I don't miss much.  I am starting to finally enjoy being pregnant and can relax a bit.  But, if I had to choose something, I guess it would be that I miss being independent, and being able to do things on my own, without having to wait for others to help me (like getting Christmas decorations down from the attic).

Cravings:  None especially.  Some things sound better than others, but true cravings have kind of subsided.

Symptoms: A BIG BELLY, a sore back and some mild cramping and stretching.

Best moment for this week: Meeting my new OBGYN this week.  She was really outgoing and fun and most of all, very positive.  PLUS, she's a Fightin' Texas Aggie!!!  We didn't know that when we chose her as our OB, so that was definitely a pleasant surprise.

  2. Someone told me that if you feel something in your stomach and it's not followed by a "toot" then it's the baby and not gas. TMI I know but it was great advice for this new mommy. HA!!

Kendalyn's furniture is Munire Savannah. We actually got it in Onyx (black) it was still in the wrapper when I took the picture. It does come in Linen (white). We bought it at USA Baby in Houston. They also sell it at Baby's 1st Furniture in Houston. I was very overwhelmed with Babies R Us so I felt better being in a furniture store and concentrating on what I wanted for her room. Silly, I know.
This bed converts into 4 beds...crib, toddler, day bed and a regular full size bed. I was very excited about that. She can have her room a variety of ways.

I have 2 other furniture brochures on beds that we liked. If you would like information on those let me know. I'll be glad to share. They are quality beds at a good price. Daddy did choose the most expensive out of our 3 choices for our baby girl. I don't think she will be spoiled at all, HA!!
