Pregnancy Highlights: 23 Weeks

How far along: 23 Weeks, Yesterday!

This picture is actually during 22 weeks, but I love it!  My sister-in-law, Amy, took these during the break.

Size of Babies: They weigh just over 1 pound each and are more than 11 inches long, the size of a large mango.

(Picture taken from Google images and BabyCenter.com)

Total Weight Gain/Lost:  I'm guessing between 25 and 30 pounds, but I'm not sure exactly.  I am definitely seeing it in my face and my hands.

Maternity Clothes: YES!  I can still wear t-shirts (no more smalls and only a few big mediums, though), but most of my wardrobe is spent in maternity wear and/or pajamas!  Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to buy some bigger jeans.  The mediums just aren't cutting it anymore, which makes me kind of sad, just because I don't want to have to buy more.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL (Reese Kathleen) and Baby B is a BOY (Truett Zeldon)

Movement: Yes!  They are really starting to move, especially Reese.  I don't know if I'm just feeling her more, or feeling the movement more on her side, but she is really an active little thing.  Truett moves some, too, but not nearly as much as his sister.  The best is watching Richard's face when he sees my belly wiggle and move.  They definitely have somewhat of a pattern to their movement...really active mid-morning, and late evening, as well as when I'm sitting in certain positions.

Sleep:  Sleep has gotten rough.  The extra weight on my body makes my hips hurt so bad when I'm sleeping so I'm constantly waking up and shifting.  McH has started sleeping in the guest room because his snoring keeps me awake, too, now that I'm waking up all the time.  I come home and take naps again, like I did in the beginning, and when I get in bed, initially I can read for about 10 minutes and I'm out, until I wake up with hip pain.  Despite all those things, I know every pain and fitful night is absolutely worth it!

What I Miss:  Feeling rested, and being able to ride long distances in the car without pain.

Cravings: Starting to crave sweets, which is kind of unusual for me.

Symptoms:  Aches and pains, hungry, tired.  But overall, I honestly feel pretty good most days.  I just get tired and worn out really easily and have to really be careful about drinking enough water and not overdoing it (which I did over Christmas and really regretted it).

Best moment for this week: It actually happened this morning.  Reese was really moving around and of course when I called McH over to watch it, she stopped.  So, he put his face really close to my belly and started talking to them, and IMMEDIATELY she started moving and kicking again!  He stopped and she stopped.  He started again and she started again.  It was so sweet.  I teared up and it made him SO happy!  He's already such a good daddy.

  1. I love that they move when Rich does!!! Cole and Nat did the same thing and they knew their daddy's voice too when they were born. He used to read to them too. So sweet! Cole & Nat started talking to the baby yesterday. I think it was the sweetest thing to see my babies leaned over my belly talking to their new sibling! Of course they were screaming, "MOVE BABY! KICK MOMMY!" But it was still precious!

K was kicking me the other day (hard and alot)so Cowboy put his hand on my stomach and said "that will be enough of that" and she stopped. So precious. I swear I can tell her personality already.

  8. just saw a blurb about the new spanx preggo range out there...apparently has had some good reviews from people (some carrying twins) who have used them saying they helped in relieving the weight a bit. just thought i'd pass the word...
