Pregnancy Highlights: 29 Weeks

How far along: 29 weeks TODAY!

Size of Babies:  According to BabyCenter.com, the babies now weigh about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and are a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Of course, we know Truett already weighs more than this and we're praying his sister does, too.  Their muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and their heads are growing bigger to make room for their developing brains.

Total Weight Gain/Lost:  I'm really starting to feel my weight.  Everyone says I look great and don't look like I've gained much weight at all, especially when I tell them it's probably around 45 pounds so far!  But I think it's because it is fairly evenly distributed on my body.  I see it more in my face/neck, my upper arms, and upper legs, and as far as the belly is concerned, I am sticking STRAIGHT OUT!  Seriously, very little to the sides and all up front!  HA!

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time.  If it's not maternity, it's L or XL, or one of McH's shirts or pajama pants.

Gender: Baby A is a GIRL (Reese Kathleen) and Baby B is a BOY (Truett Zeldon).

Movement: Yep!  Definitely have a pattern to their movements, too.  As a matter of fact, they are really squirming a lot at this moment, especially Reese.  I've started paying more attention to their kicks as I know the doctor is going to start me kick counting at my next appointment.

Sleep:  Well, today is not a good day to ask.  I have not slept well the last few days, but especially last night.  I will sleep really hard for about 3 hours and then wake up and not be able to go back to sleep.  Very frustrating but I'm combating it with naps during the day.

What I Miss:  Getting out of the house.

Cravings:  Still love bacon, but honestly not craving much these days.

Symptoms: Some swelling, but the worst symptom I've recently developed is the worst acid reflux/heartburn ever!  It is pure misery, y'all.  I'm trying so hard not to complain through this pregnancy, but this, by far, has been the worst symptom so far.  It makes me nauseous, so I don't eat as much and then I get more nauseous because I haven't eaten.  This is a big reason why I'm not sleeping, too.  Laying down makes it worse.

Best moment for this week:  I've had lots of great moments...first, we continue to get some amazing gifts in the mail and brought to the house and we are just so thankful for each and every one of them.  We had our first shower, a couples get together, given by some of our friends.  We had a great group turn out and had a lot of fun just visiting.  My SIL, Dawn, came by Thursday and brought some goodies and gifts with her and that was so much fun, AND she went to the grocery store for me which was HUGE!  I'm so thankful they are going to be here permanently soon!

But, I have to say the BEST moment of the week was the day I stopped VOMITING after I had an awful 2-hour stomach bug.  I know it's gross, but I'm telling you there are few worse things than throwing up while you're pregnant.  Ugh.  It was a huge relief when, I realized at 2 a.m. when I woke up STARVING, it had run its course and I was on the other side of it!

  2. We need to see a belly bump picture, missy : )
I am sure you look precious.
Checking the mail and the front door should be a highlight of your day. It is for me. Love getting gifts for our little one.
I've used Tums for heartburn etc. And just when I absolutely had to. They say milk works but it never did for me.

Thinking of you girl. I am so excited for you.

  3. i ate a full bottle of tums while pregnant with Joah, but it was the Tums Smoothies. To me they were much better tasting. I spoke with several doctors and they all said it was ok to do, plus it gave me almost instant relief!! You're soo close to meeting your babies!!
